“Quest”

One quest I am familiar with is in the book, Wings of Fire: The Dragonet Prophecy, there are five dragons born to end a large-scale war between three dragon sisters fighting for the throne of their respected tribe. But that mission was cut short when the dragons refused to stay hidden from the outside world and decided to escape, causing their primary mission to halt when they were caught. Their main quest was then postponed and their primary quest at that time was to escape. But along the way, they faced trials that endangered their lives, for example, being forced to fight in an arena was one of them. Later on, the dragons realized that their real mission was not to end the war, but to protect each dragon from harm and to bring about peace.

I think quests are so prevalent in stories because it gives the stories a purpose. The Quest is like the center of the story, it’s like a summary of the whole entire story. That is why I think Quests are so prevalent in stories. The Quest is something that brings about some sort of maturity towards the character(s) through things such as tasks and trials. I think quests are the reason why stories are so interesting, because Quests give the story the ability to go on a path of its own while still being connected to other stories. If the story line wanders, then there can be more creativity rather than just an unoriginal, plain story plot that everybody read over a hundred times already. Quests can give authors a way to stay true to originality and still have a connection to other stories if used properly. Overall, this is why I think Quests are so popular in stories. (Quests are also an opportunity for me to make something that is famously known as plot twists πŸ˜‰ in my stories, wink wink).

I have never heard of that book before. It sounds interesting. I think you did great job describing it. Also, I can see what components allow Wings of Fire to fit under the quest. I would have never thought of the quest as a summary. I still agree with you though. Good job!
